Tybee Island’s Beaches

On the north beach you will find the historic lighthouse and can watch the international cargo ships coming in and out of the Port of Savannah. South beach has lot’s of water sport activities like Kite Surfing and Surfing. The Tybee Pier and Pavilion features fishing, restaurants, bars, and shops located along the Strand.
Tybee Island Marine Science Center
With tours almost everyday you can explore Tybee Island’s beaches and learn more about the local island’s creatures. Sign-up for a discovery walk led by an expert. 912.786.5917.
Tybee Museum & Lighthouse
178 steps to the top of the Georgia’s oldest and tallest lighthouse that displays its 1916 day mark and a First Order Fresnel lens (nine feet tall). Check out Tybee Light House’s website for details on when you can visit.
